TECs ESL Teacher Training at the Metroplex Literacy Conference

TECs* ESL Teacher Training prepares volunteers to teach English as a Second Language (ESL) in a faith-based setting. TECs Training provides hands-on teaching activities, tips for success, and useful resources. Attendees benefit from the knowledge and expertise of experienced teacher trainers.

TECs Training is being offered at the Metroplex Literacy Conference at Dallas Baptist University. Registration for TECs Training AUTOMATICALLY registers you for the Conference.   All Conference attendees will enjoy Breakfast, Snack and Boxed Lunch.  In additon, they will have the opportunity to hear the lunchtime panel of speakers from local literacy organizations and to visit with representatives from curriculum vendors and literacy groups. Take advantage of this fun and convenient opportunity for training!

The online, self-paced instruction MUST be completed before attending the in-person workshop.
Attendees receive a Literacy Connexus certificate upon completion of the 7 hours of training.

Note:  Because most adult ESL students in Texas church ministries are beginners, the emphasis is on teaching that level. However, higher level teachers who have never attended TECs Training will also benefit.  Many of the same techniques used for beginners are also appropriate for the higher levels.
