TECs ESL Teacher Training, Engaging English Learners 101, Waco, TX

THIS REGISTRATION IS FOR ENGAGING ENGLISH LEARNERS 101.  If you want to register for Teaching Higher-Level ESL Students, please return to www.literacyconnexus.org/events and select that event.

TECs* ESL Teacher Training, Engaging English Learners 101, is a 7-hour training that prepares volunteers to teach English as a Second Language (ESL) in a community-based or faith-affiliated setting.  The workshop provides hands-on teaching activities, tips for success, and useful resources. Participants benefit from the knowledge and expertise of an experienced teacher trainer.   OnlineTECs Training Manual is included.  Lunch will be provided.

3 hours of online, self-paced instruction plus
4-hour in-person workshop, August 23, 2025, 9:00 AM - 1:30 PM

COST:  $35
Includes online TECs Training Manual, 3 hours of online instruction and 4-hour in-person workshop.
Payment may be made online when registering or at workshop on August 23, 2025.

ONLINE TRAINING:
As soon as your registration is confirmed, the online TECs Training Manual and online training will be available.
The online training MUST be completed before attending the in-person workshop.

CERTIFICATE:
Literacy ConneXus training certificate for 7 hours is given to participants upon completion of the workshop.

Note:  Because most adult ESL students in church ministries are beginners, the emphasis is on teaching that level. However, higher level teachers who have never attended a basic workshop will benefit from this training.  Many of the same techniques used for beginners are also appropriate for the higher levels.
