TECs* ESL Teacher Training, Engaging English Learners 101, prepares volunteers to teach English as a Second Language (ESL) in a community-based or faith-affiliated setting. The workshop provides hands-on teaching activities, tips for success, and useful resources. Participants benefit from the knowledge and expertise of an experienced teacher trainer.

3 hours of online self-paced instruction plus
4-hour in-person workshop, Sunday, August 18, 2024, 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM

COST:  $25
Includes online TECs Training Manual, 3 hours of online instruction and 4-hour in-person workshop.
Payment may be made online when registering or at workshop on August 18, 2024.

The manual and online training will be available as soon as your registration is confirmed.
The online training MUST be completed before attending the in-person workshop.

Participants will receive a Literacy ConneXus training certificate for 7 hours upon completion.

NOTE:  Because most adult ESL students in Texas church ministries are beginners, the emphasis is on teaching that level. However, higher level teachers who have never attended a basic workshop will benefit from this training.  Many of the same techniques used for beginners are also appropriate for the higher levels.
