TECs* ESL Teacher Training, Teaching English Learners 101, prepares volunteers to teach English as a Second Language (ESL) in a community-based or faith-affiliated setting. The workshop provides hands-on teaching activities, tips for success, and useful resources. Participants benefit from the knowledge and expertise of an experienced teacher trainer.

3 hours of online self-paced instruction plus
4-hour in-person workshop, August 17, 2024, 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM

COST:  $25
Includes online TECs Training Manual, 3 hours of online instruction and 4-hour in-person workshop.
Payment may be made online when registering or at workshop on August 17, 2024.

The online training MUST be completed before attending the in-person workshop.

Participants will receive a Literacy ConneXus training certificate for 7 hours upon completion.

NOTE:  Because most adult ESL students in Texas church ministries are beginners, the emphasis is on teaching that level. However, higher level teachers who have never attended a basic workshop will benefit from this training.  Many of the same techniques used for beginners are also appropriate for the higher levels.
