Teaching English Learners 101 is a TECs ESL Teacher Training by Literacy ConneXus that prepares volunteers to teach English as a Second Language (ESL) in a faith-based setting. Each participant completes a 3-hour online, self-paced training before attending a 4-hour in-person workshop. At the workshop, experienced teacher trainers share hands-on teaching activities, tips for success, and useful resources.

Participants will receive a Literacy ConneXus training certificate for 7 hours upon completion.

Note: Because most adult ESL students in Texas church ministries are beginners, the emphasis is on teaching that level. However, higher level teachers who have never attended a basic workshop will benefit from this training. Many of the same techniques used for beginners are also appropriate for the higher levels.
